Honeysuckle Removal
We cut bush honeysuckle at the base with loppers or a pruning saw, and bring out a chainsaw for larger multi-stem clumps. Smaller plants we pull roots and all with a weed wrench, so there's no stump left to resprout. We can chip the brush on site or haul it away, whichever you prefer.
Honeysuckle Stump Treatment
Every stump gets treated the same day it's cut. We apply a glyphosate or triclopyr concentrate to the outer ring of the cut using a dauber bottle or low-pressure hand sprayer. Untreated stumps almost always resprout, so we treat every stem we cut.
Honeysuckle Regrowth Control
The following season, we return to foliar-spray seedlings and resprouts with a backpack sprayer. We usually do this in late fall, when honeysuckle is still green but most native plants have already dropped their leaves.
Honeysuckle Vine Removal
We pull Japanese honeysuckle vines off fences, shrubs, and trees, then cut the stems at ground level with hand pruners and treat the cut ends with triclopyr.
